Definition of Bullying behaviours
Bullying is a behaviour that:
- involves systematic abuse of power. Bullying in school might not be confined to children; adults can also display bullying behaviour towards each other and children.
- is by an individual or group, repeated over time, that intentionally hurts another individual or group either physically or emotionally (DFE Preventing and Tackling Bullying 2017).
We aim to give children a clear understanding of what bullying behaviour is and how to deal with it. We use the STOP approach. We teach the children that bullying behaviour is Several Times On Purpose. We also teach them that they need to Start Telling Other People.
