Computing
Technology has revolutionised the way we live, study and work and at Finedon Schools, we aim to provide children access to an enriching, diverse and creative curriculum that balances all the aspects of computing, including keeping safe online.
We follow Purple Mash Schemes of Work to deliver the computing curriculum and we aim for pupils to build their knowledge and understanding of computer science during lessons pupils where they are introduced to a wide range of technology. This enables them to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation. They have opportunities to analyse problems in computational terms and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programmes to solve such problems.
We also equip pupils to become digitally literate so that they can express themselves and develop their ideas through information and computer technology safely, allowing them to continually practise and improve the skills they learn so that they become creative users of computing technology suitable for the future workplace.
Please note, for Y1 and Y2 we work on a two-year rolling programme. Cycle A is 2024-25 and Cycle B is 2023-24.
